Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (UK: /vɪˈvældi/, US: /vɪˈvɑːldi,-ˈvɔːl-/; Italian: [anˈtɔːnjo ˈluːtʃo viˈvaldi]; 4 March 1678 – 28 July 1741) was an Italian Baroque composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, impresario, and Roman Catholic priest.

Burkhard Glaetzner (born 29 May 1943) is a German oboe virtuoso und conductor. He is one of the leading oboe players in Germany.

Ingo Goritzki (born 22 February 1939 in Berlin, Germany) is a German oboist, pianist, and flautist. He began his flute and piano studies in Freiburg, and switched to oboe as his primary instrument at age 20.

Karl Johann Suske (born 15 March 1934) is a German violinist. In the course of his more than forty-year career as a musician, Suske has been first concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra as well as the Bayreuth Festival orchestra. He was also a member of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Quartet and founder of a quartet named after him in Berlin. Until 1990 Suske held professorships at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, Weimar and the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig.

Christine Schornsheim, married name Christine Engelmayr (born in 1959), is a German harpsichordist and pianist.

Siegfried Pank (born 24 March 1936) is a German cellist and viol player. He was a member of the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig from 1962 to 1980, and toured with the Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum. He turned to playing the viol in historically informed performance, and lectured cello and viol at the Musikhochschule Leipzig from 1984, as professor from 1988 to 2001. He was a co-founder of the International Telemann Association in 1991, serving as its president from 2012.

Achim Beyer (* 4. Oktober 1932 in Werdau; † 28. September 2009 in Erlangen) war ein deutscher Oppositioneller in der DDR, der vor allem wegen seiner aus politischen Gründen erfolgten Inhaftierung bekannt wurde. 19 Werdauer Oberschüler waren 1951 wegen Flugblatt-Aktionen zu insgesamt 130 Jahren Haft verurteilt worden. Nach seiner Flucht in die Bundesrepublik verfasste er wissenschaftliche Analysen über Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft der DDR und war bis zu seinem Lebensende in der politischen Bildung tätig.
