Overview:

Amazing Grace tells the incredible true story of William Wilberforce, the British politician who spearheaded the movement to abolish the transatlantic slave trade. Set in the late 18th century, at a time when the slave trade was seen as vital to Britain's economy, Wilberforce (played by Ioan Gruffudd) becomes a tireless voice for change, fighting against overwhelming societal and economic pressures to free millions of enslaved Africans.

The film captures both the personal struggles and the larger historical battles of Wilberforce and his fellow abolitionists. As he faces political resistance, personal challenges, and moral dilemmas, the narrative builds towards the historic moment when, despite fierce opposition, Britain finally passed legislation to end the slave trade.
