All the King's Men is a 1949 American film noir written, produced, and directed by Robert Rossen. Based on the 1946 novel by Robert Penn Warren, the film explores the rise and fall of the ambitious and ruthless politician Willie Stark (played by Broderick Crawford) in the American South. Although a fictional character, Stark bears a striking resemblance to the real-life Louisiana governor Huey Long.
