Szénássy Barna (full name Szénássy Dénes Barna) (born December 11, 1913, in Ungvár – died November 12, 1995, in Debrecen) was a distinguished Hungarian mathematician and historian of science, regarded as one of Hungary's most prominent scholars in the field of mathematical history. He was commissioned by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences to write the history of Hungarian mathematics. His research was based on original sources, a process greatly supported by his wife, Ludányi Valéria, a university librarian.

Szénássy authored 11 books, 44 scholarly articles, 21 popular science articles, and 17 book reviews. His most notable contribution was his research on János Bolyai, a key figure in the development of geometry.

Szénássy Barna (született 1913. december 11-én Ungváron, elhunyt 1995. november 12-én Debrecenben) kiemelkedő magyar matematikus és tudománytörténész, aki a magyar matematikatörténet egyik legismertebb képviselője. A Magyar Tudományos Akadémia megbízásából írta meg a magyar matematika történetét. Kutatásai mindig az eredeti forrásokra épültek, melyekben nagy segítségére volt egyetemi könyvtáros felesége, Ludányi Valéria.

Szénássy 11 könyvet, 44 szakcikket, 21 ismeretterjesztő cikket és 17 könyvismertetést publikált. Legjelentősebb hozzájárulása a matematikatörténethez János Bolyai kutatása volt, aki a geometria fejlődésében kulcsszerepet játszott.
