A Chinese Tall Story (Chinese: 情癲大聖; Cantonese Yale: Ching din dai sing) is a 2005 Hong Kong fantasy adventure film written and directed by Jeffrey Lau. Loosely based on the 16th-century novel Journey to the West, the story follows Tang monk Tripitaka (played by Nicholas Tse) and his three disciples: Monkey King Sun WuKong (Bolin Chen), Pig Monk Zhu WuNeng (Kenny Kwan), and Sand Monk Sha WuJing (Steven Cheung).

Upon their arrival in the city of Shache, they are greeted with a hero's welcome, but Tripitaka's greatest challenge—achieving deification—lies ahead. During their stay, the disciples are captured by evil Tree Spirits. In a desperate attempt to save them, Tripitaka borrows the Golden Pole and seeks a way to rescue his friends.

In his quest, he encounters a young lizard imp named Meiyan (Charlene Choi), who is not only visually striking with her wild hair and unique dental features but also falls in love with Tripitaka at first sight. Determined to win his heart, Meiyan sets a love trap for him. Unbeknownst to Tripitaka, he unwittingly falls into her trap, leading to the breaking of the Heavenly Code.
