The 7 virtues for effective living are a set of principles that Pastor Benny Ho teaches to help people build a healthy culture in their families, churches, and organizations. According to Pastor Ho, these 7 virtues are based on the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:21, where He commends His faithful servant: “Well done thou good and faithful servant” . Each word in this verse outlines a virtue that can bring about a new level of effectiveness in our daily living.
They are:
- Well: This virtue is about doing things with excellence and quality, not settling for mediocrity or sloppiness. It also means doing things with integrity and honesty, not compromising or cheating.
- Done: This virtue is about being productive and fruitful, not lazy or idle. It also means being proactive and diligent, not reactive or negligent.
- Thou: This virtue is about being humble and teachable, not proud or arrogant. It also means being respectful and courteous, not rude or abusive.
- Good: This virtue is about being moral and ethical, not evil or wicked. It also means being generous and kind, not selfish or stingy.
- Faithful: This virtue is about being loyal and trustworthy, not disloyal or unfaithful. It also means being consistent and reliable, not inconsistent or unreliable.
- Servant: This virtue is about being submissive and obedient, not rebellious or disobedient. It also means being helpful and supportive, not hindering or opposing.
- Enter: This virtue is about being adventurous and courageous, not fearful or timid. It also means being visionary and creative, not limited or conventional.
Pastor Ho explains that when these 7 virtues are diligently applied, we can allow kingdom values and principles to shape and transform our lives and the lives of those around us. He has written a book called “7 Virtues For Effective Living” where he expounds on these principles in more detail. He also teaches them in his ministry through various media platforms.
