The translation of the Old testament was based on gradually in the edition of the Guide to life along with the interpretative notes on the biblical text. Since 2010, is based on the translation of the Word on a journey in the new advanced video editing, including the world-renowned illustrations by Annie Vallottonové.

The New Living Translation is one of the world's most widely used English translations of the Bible. NLT it was first published in 1996, its latest revision is from the year 2015.

Both translations are based on the common tradition of the translation of The Living Bible and strive for easier vocabulary and great clarity, rather than doslovnost. The reader is then guided to neporovnával individual words, but plunged into longer passages of the biblical text.
